Notification of Title VI Protection
Protecting Your Rights: What is Title VI?
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is a Federal statute that provides that no person shall be discriminated against or denied benefits on the ground of race, color, or national origin, in programs and services that receive federal financial assistance. As such, to ensure that ATN customers are not discriminated against, we have adopted policies that promote equal access and quality service to all our customers.
How Do I File a Title VI Complaint
If you believe you have been discriminated against, you may file a signed, written complaint within one hundred and eighty (180) days of the date of alleged discrimination. The complaint should include the following information:
Your name, address and how to contact you (e.g. telephone number, e-mail address, etc.)
How, when, where and why you believe you were discriminated against. Include the location, names and contact information of any witnesses.
The complaint may be filed in writing to ATN directly at:

Complainants may also file a Title VI complaint with an external entity such as the FTA, other federal and state agencies or federal or state court. However, should a complaint be filed with ATN and an external entity simultaneously, the external complaint will supersede the ATN complaint and ATN complaint procedures will be suspended pending the external entity’s findings.
